“Congress Trying To Launch Same Product Over And Over”: PM Modi
In a sharp rebuke to the Congress party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized its leadership for continually “launching the same product over and over” during his address in Parliament.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s “Mohabbat ki dukaan” slogan, PM Modi asserted that the Congress’s repeated attempts at presenting the same political narrative were causing its downfall. The remarks were made during the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on President Droupadi Murmu’s address at the beginning of the budget session.
PM Modi took the opportunity to blame the Congress for the current state of the Opposition, accusing them of hindering the progress of other political parties. He emphasized the importance of a robust Opposition in a democracy but accused the Congress of failing in its role and contributing to the deterioration of parliamentary proceedings and the country as a whole. The Prime Minister also pointed to the consequences of dynasty politics, citing instances where leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Ghulam Nabi Azad had to make shifts due to internal issues.
Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to a bike repair shop, PM Modi remarked that the Congress had apparently learned the trade of an automobile mechanic, but the real problem lay in the “alignment” within their alliance. This comment was seen as a reference to the internal conflicts within the INDIA bloc just months ahead of crucial elections.
Defending his colleagues Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah against accusations of dynasty politics, PM Modi argued that having family members involved in politics was not inherently problematic. He contended that the real concern arises when a family dominates and runs a political party, highlighting the need for a more inclusive and democratic approach to leadership within political organizations.
